Labidochromis sp. Perlmutt

Perlmutt is the German word for "Mother of Pearl". This name is in reference to its pearly, cream coloring. Many males may develop dark bars but many dominant and breeding males have a much more pearl coloring and yellow-gold fins. These guys will do best when provided hiding places.

  • Adult Size:  4-5"
  • Temperament:  Aggressive, especially towards other males of the same species or look similar.
  • Compatibility:  Keep with other Mbunas. Avoid keeping with Peacocks or Haps.
  • Suggested Diet:  SRC Hi-Intensity Color Plus Diet to promote color development.
