Shipping Information

All orders are shipped based on the day the order was placed. Once an order is confirmed, we will hand pick your new beautiful, healthy fish and move them into a temporary holding tank where we will prepare them for shipment. All fish must be pulled off feed for at least 48 hours prior to shipping to ensure the ammonia levels do not rise during the journey. 

On the day your order is due to ship, we will pack your order very carefully and securely. We will send a tracking email as soon as your order departs our facility. You can typically expect the tracking email between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm MST. If you do not receive your tracking email, please feel free to reach out via email, info@snakerivercichlds.com and we will get you taken care of.

Due to the rise in shipping costs, we have made the tough decision to increase our shipping rates. We have carefully created a hybrid rate schedule that combines the weight of the order and your region within the contiguous 48 states of the United States. Please know that we do not make ANY money on shipping, and by increasing the shipping rate, we are closing the financial gap so we can focus on what we do best: breeding beautiful, high-quality fish and shipping them quickly, efficiently, and in the best packing materials.

 

Please refer to the chart to see the new tiered system. Shipping prices will be automatically calculated at checkout based on your shipping address and the weight of the packaged fish in your order. We have added the weight onto all product descriptions so you can see where you are on your order if you want to stay in the lower tier. 10lbs goes much further than you may think; about 80% of orders fall under the 10lbs mark.

Regrettably, we cannot provide shipping services to Alaska, Hawaii, or any outlying territories. Furthermore, international shipping is not available.

We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause; we appreciate your understanding as we work to provide the best shipping options for our customers.

Winter shipping information:

We are based in a rural area; our small planes cannot depart if there is fog, high wind, rain, or snow, so we will no longer be shipping orders if we expect snow in the Twin Falls or Boise areas.

If your order is delayed due to weather, please be aware that we pack our fish with heat packs, insulation, and enough oxygen to last up to 3 days. If a package is delayed, it will typically be stored in a climate-controlled facility during the wait, and more often than not, the fish will be just fine.  

Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather. We will do our best to keep customers informed about shipping delays, and as always, please reach out with any questions!

Fish are living things, and much care must be taken to ensure their safe arrival. By placing an order, you acknowledge the following:
  • Your order will ship according to the day the order was placed.  Holidays and inclement weather permitting.
  • Orders placed during a restock will ship Monday or Tuesday of the following week and may not follow the normal shipping schedule. 
  • Friday showcase orders will always be shipped the following Tuesday.
  • If you place two orders in one day, we will combine them for a $10 fee and process a partial refund for the second order. We can combine up to two orders per day, but if the weight exceeds 10 lbs, you may incur additional fees. Please email us if you want orders to be combined.
  • If your order is delayed due to carrier complications or weather, the "Arrive Alive" policy will still be honored, but please note that all shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • We are unable to hold orders for a later shipping date.

  • Shipping fees are non-refundable. Guaranteed items are credited via store credit or refund to the original form of payment associated with the order. We will not send replacement items or orders.
  • All purchases are final!
