Melanochromis auratus

Males are black and brown with a yellow-gold stripe.  The dorsal fin is also brown and black with yellow-gold tips. Their tail fins have black spots.

  • Adult Size:  4-5"
  • Temperament:  Aggressive, especially conspecific.
  • Compatibility:  Best to keep with other Mbunas, preferably ones of different species or dissimilar appearance.
