Maulana, this species is admired for its electrifying blue and yellow coloration that punctuates its body and captures the attention of any aquarist.    

Named for a diver from Stuart Grant’s team, with the “500” denoting its spot on Grant's export list, this cichlid is not only peaceful and relatively docile compared to its Lake Malawi counterparts but also offers a lively burst of color. The Maulana Bicolor 500 serves as both a peaceful community fish and a vibrant centerpiece, perfect for enhancing the biodiversity and visual appeal of your aquarium.

  • Adult Size:  4-6"
  • Temperament:  Mildly aggressive. Can display conspecific aggression towards males of the same species and may show territoriality during breeding.
  • Compatibility:  Keep with other Peacocks and Haps of a similar size. Avoid keeping with Mbunas.
  • Suggested Diet:  SRC Hi-Intensity color food to promote color development.
