As with other Mbunas, both males and females display coloring.  As these fish reach maturity they will take on a yellow and black pattern, reminiscent of a bumblebee.  These Mbunas can change colors fast! Yellows can become pale and their black stripes can become brown, temperament plays a big role in coloring.

  • Adult Size:  6-7"
  • Temperament:  Aggressive, especially towards males of the same species.
  • Compatibility:  Keep with other Mbunas. Avoid keeping with Peacocks or Haps.
