Temperament: Aggressive, especially towards other males of the same species or look similar.
Description: Perlmutt is the German word for "Mother of Pearl". This name is in reference to its pearly, cream coloring. Many males may develop dark bars but many dominant and breeding males have a much more pearl coloring and yellow-gold fins. These guys will do best when provided hiding places.
Tank Mate Compatibility: Other Mbuna Cichlids and possibly Cuckoo Catfish. Avoid Peacocks or Haplochromis Cichlids.
